What Is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy brings the body into the healing process. Instead of staying in the mind or talking about experiences from a distance, we slow down and pay attention to your nervous system, your breath, your posture, and the subtle ways your body has learned to protect you.
This approach helps you notice habitual patterns, soften long-held tension, and develop a deeper sense of presence and regulation. Sessions are collaborative and gentle, paced with your system and creating room for insight to land in a way that actually changes how you feel and move through the world.
In session, we also pay attention to what arises between us. The body carries relational histories, and these can show up in the room: in how you respond, what feels comfortable or vulnerable, or what emotions surface in the moment. We explore these patterns together not to analyze them, but to offer a new experience of being met.
Who I Work With
You may be navigating experiences such as:
Anxiety, overwhelm, or chronic stress
Persistent tension, tightness, or other somatic symptoms
The lingering impact of childhood trauma or emotional neglect
Grief, major life transitions, or shifts in identity
Shame, self-criticism, perfectionism, or feeling disconnected from yourself
Feeling “too much” emotionally, or feeling shut down and unsure how to reconnect
Many people who come to this work are thoughtful, sensitive, and highly capable in many areas of life. You may have relied on strategies that helped you get this far: staying busy, staying in your head, managing everything on your own. Something in your system may now be asking for a different kind of support.
You might be wanting more ease in your body, more spaciousness in your emotional world, and a steadier sense of yourself. If that’s where you find yourself, this work can help you slow down, listen inward, and begin reconnecting with what feels true and supportive for you.
